Dashboards and reporting consulting that you can actually trust

You should not need ten spreadsheets open just to answer one basic question. I use Excel, Power Query, SQL, Power BI and Tableau to turn scattered data into something you can read at a glance and rely on. Clean numbers, clear dashboards, and reports that refresh themselves instead of getting rebuilt from scratch every month.

What this is

Plain reporting work, done right. I take the data you already have and make it show you something useful.

Most teams are not short on data. They are short on data they trust. The same number lives in three spreadsheets and reads differently in each one. Someone spends a Friday afternoon copying cells into a slide deck, and by Monday it is already stale. I fix that. I clean and structure your data with Power Query and SQL, then build a dashboard on top of it in Power BI or Tableau so the numbers stay current on their own.

The result is a single screen that answers the questions you ask most. Revenue this month against last month. Grant draws against budget. Operations and performance at a glance, with the slow parts colored so you see them without hunting. When the underlying data refreshes, the dashboard refreshes. No copy and paste, no Friday afternoon spent rebuilding the same report you built the month before.

I also connect the pieces that should already talk to each other. SQL data and spreadsheets, your accounting export and your operations tracker, so the right numbers flow where they belong instead of being keyed in twice. And when you need to plan ahead, I build forecasts and what if views for slow months, delayed payments or funding pauses, so a hard stretch is something you saw coming. If you want this kind of reporting wired into the everyday running of the business, I also built HumbleSuite at humblesuite.com, an all in one platform that carries a lot of this for you.

What you get

Concrete deliverables, not a pile of charts nobody opens.

Dashboards and clean data

Built in the tool you already own, handed over so your team can keep it running.

  • A live dashboard in Power BI or Tableau showing revenue, grants, operations or performance at a glance.
  • Your scattered data cleaned and structured with Power Query so reports are repeatable, not rebuilt by hand.
  • Connections between SQL data and spreadsheets so the right numbers flow where they should, with no double keying.
  • Repeatable monthly and quarterly reports that refresh on their own instead of starting from a blank page.
  • Forecasts and what if views for slow months, delayed payments and funding pauses.
  • A short written guide so you and your staff can read, refresh and trust the numbers without calling me.
  • A plain English walkthrough of how it all fits together, in case you ever hand it to someone new.

You keep everything. The files, the queries and the dashboard are yours, and they are built so they do not fall apart the day I step away.

Signs you need this

If a few of these sound like your week, a real reporting setup will pay for itself fast.

  • You open five or ten spreadsheets just to answer one simple question.
  • The same number reads differently depending on which file you check.
  • Someone rebuilds the same report by hand every single month.
  • Your board, your funder or your boss wants a clean view and you dread making it.
  • Your SQL database and your spreadsheets do not talk, so numbers get keyed in twice.
  • You cannot see a slow month or a delayed payment coming until it has already hit.

This work suits small businesses, veteran owned businesses, and public sector or grant funded teams who need numbers their funders and leaders can trust. I serve the Front Range near Colorado Springs in person and the whole country remotely.

How it works

A calm, four step path from messy data to a dashboard you trust.

1
Discovery
We talk through the questions you ask most and where your data lives now. I look at the spreadsheets, the SQL, the exports and the messy bits, so I know exactly what I am working with before I touch anything.
2
Design
I sketch the dashboard and the layout with you. We agree on which numbers matter, how they should read, and whether Power BI or Tableau fits your team best. No surprises later.
3
Build
I clean and structure the data with Power Query and SQL, connect the sources that should talk, and build the dashboard on top. You see it taking shape and tell me what to adjust as it grows.
4
Poise and tuning
We tune it once it is live. I add forecasts and what if views, tidy the labels, and walk you through refreshing it yourself. You leave with a setup that holds steady and a guide so it stays that way.

Common questions

Do you build in Power BI or Tableau?

Both. I build in Power BI and Tableau, and I also work in Excel and Power Query when that fits your team better. I pick the tool you already own or the one your people can keep running without me. The goal is a dashboard you actually use, not one that depends on me forever.

My data is a mess across many spreadsheets. Can you still help?

Yes, that is the normal starting point. I clean and structure scattered data with Power Query and SQL so reports are repeatable instead of rebuilt by hand every time. Once the data is tidy, the dashboard on top of it stays accurate on its own.

Do you work with grant funded and public sector teams?

I do, and I welcome them. I help grant funded teams, public sector groups and veteran owned businesses turn budgets, draws and performance numbers into clear reporting. I serve the Front Range in person and the whole country remotely.
